Bots in lutgardis
Hey
When I do HFFF I always see people running to the Melandru's sign then running out of the door and they do this every run. Just wondering are these bots as surely Anet would have banned them by now or are they using some other program that is legal? Just thinking should I report these people for botting or not Thanks for your time ( sorry for the bad post title ) |

When I did a lot of HFFF, I always scanned for the sign and clicked it and did some guildchat while I was autorunning.
Lutgardis is very symmetrical, can't count the times I have run to the wrong exit. |

maybe they didn't to chat, clicking the sign is much easier then running upto the exit from the middle.
/report them if you want, but don't cry to us if anet says they weren't botting and bans you for false reporting |

lol its pretty dam obviuos that they arent there and I think most people can notice if about 5 people run in exactly the same path every single time and would be impossile and pointless to do if you werent a bot

People are just fast with it, doesn't make them bots.
I leeched with a couple of people. They didn't talk at all because they has so many windows open, had to pay attention. But they had to invite/accept me, didn't they? So they're there. |

I do that in every single town... every single time I need to go to an outpost. I do it because I have bad eyes and I'd rather hit semi colon + space or look for the yellow marker, than try to turn around etc to get to the exit (if I do this, I'll get the wrong path for sure!)
In lutgardis, yup you bet it, it's so repetitive I don't want to spend time doing YET another boring thing: finding the exit. If I have the option to semi colon space it, I do it. |

Well i`m doin` those runs and i didn`t actualy noticed anything to unusual, Lutgardis is one of more talkative places in game. And yes even if someone whisp me i can`t answer cause i have like one huge map window open and i`m micro manage the heroes for run, i don`t even talk to people i take in party for runs....i`m not that fast and u can easily lost run if u forget something !

I usually click the flag when I need to go afk or take a short break but thats just me. When running out to zone, I always zig zag a bit outta boredom so I'm not confused for a bot when zoning with chocolate bunnies.

No doubt that some of the people in Lutgardis are legit, but it's also a bot paradise. I've talked to quite a number of people who openly admit to using automated macro programs to run it while they are afk, asleep, playing other accounts etc. Sadly, I don't think Anet cares because they don't see it has having a significant impact on the economy...but it does. Bots running that non-stop can rake in large sums of gold. Perhaps Anet refuses to deal with it because it's difficult to tell the bots from the real players for the reasons mentioned in this post.

Early on when doing HFFF in Lutgardis, I would go out the wrong portal or run toward the wrong portal due to getting confused. The Town is pretty much symmetrical. >.< So, now I just click on the sign to make sure I'm going the right way. I'm also a zombie due to doing the same thing over and over. As it is, my connection isn't the fastest, so if a stranger starts chatting me up, I may or may not answer. Usually I'm more focused on getting the run over with or getting out of lag to be chatty. It depends on what you say in chat too, if you sound like a bot, maybe players are having misconceptions about you as well. :P

Are there bots? Sure - you can pick up scripts for it by googling. Although the primary search results come up with a person having pay for access to download scripts, they are out there. But I'd have to say, the vast majority of faction farmers are not botters. I think enough people know the risk that they have just streamlined the process. When I get into HFFF, I'm sure as hell going to be looking for a way to streamline that process, and if I look like a goofy bot, so be it!

There were some very good HFFF'ers in my guild, and they used that method of just moving around fast because they were trying to minimize the time spent getting to/from...so yeah, there verly likely could be bots at Lutgardis, but could also be some of the "pros"
I don't think it's a big deal...more power to them if they make it efficient. |
